This university is believed to be haunted by a number of spirits. They include that of a student who hanged herself, a man wearing black who lingers Gramley Hall, two girls who were electrocuted at Gramley Library, a young girl who died in the elevator shadft at Clewell Hall, and a haunted photo that is located in Babcock Hall.

  • Not Salem State

As an alum I can say without a doubt that none of those Hall or building names is located at Salem State University. There was a rumor about a young boy haunting the theater, but it was never substantiated. The theater has been rebuilt, and I have not heard any rumors from current students. There are so many awesome real haunted places in Salem and Marblehead definitely has some haunted sites. SSU is a great school, but don’t visit for the ghosts!
